GARDA STATIONS ACROSS Ireland have played host to a colourful collection of animals over the years, from the Finglas cat, who took possession of a red chair:

To this little pup, who spent the night in a cell in 2014:

The latest animal to join the Garda menagerie is this poor lost pet rabbit, found wandering around Galway yesterday.

‘Roger’ is now hanging out at Galway Garda Station, where Sergeant Padraic Dolan said he’s being “well fed and well looked after”.

As you can see, they’ve even gone out to get him some salad.

Sergeant Dolan says they’re hopeful that Roger’s owner will pick him up today:

It was handed last night, found out in the Salthill area. We’ll see if someone comes forward in the course of the day… More than likely he’s a little rabbiteen that ran off.

Well, the rabbit looks like he’s doing quite all right in the meantime. Keep the salad flowing, boys.

UPDATE: The rabbit owners have been found!

Little Snowy was returned safe and sound to a family from Salthill after relations recognised the two year old rabbit and contacted them. He was picked up this evening and all is well with the world.
